Animal Helpline Auction

On Saturday May 7th, 2016 the Masset Animal Helpline will be holding its BowMeow Action and Appies fundraiser.  Join us for a delightful spring evening of live and silent auctions and savory refreshements at the charming Dixon Entrance Maritime Museum at 2182 Collison Avenue in Masset.
Admission is $5.00 at the door and starts at 7 PM. Money from this fundraiser will be used for companion animal resucue in the Greater Masset area.  The Animal Helpline is a volunteer organization and all money raised is used for the care of lost, abandoned, and surrendered companion animals [food, medication, vet services]. The Animal Helpline would appreciate any donations that could be used in the live and silent auctions.  For more information or to donate please call Anne-Marie at 250-626-5126 or email dragon@mhtv.ca

 

Property Tax Notices

The tax notices will be mailed approximately mid May 2016.

 Please remember to fill out the back portion of the notice to claim your Home Owner’s Grant and bring it into the Village Office.

 The property tax deadline is Monday July 4, 2016. Payments must be received by 4:00 pm on July 4th to avoid a 10% penalty.

Payment options include:

1)   At the Village of Masset Office

2)   Mailed to P.O. Box 68 Masset B.C. VOT 1M0

3)   Couriered to 1686 Main Street Masset B.C. V0T 1M0

4)  Online Payments can be made if you have an account with Northern Savings Credit Union.

5)  Electronic funds transfers can be made from your financial institution to the Northern Savings Credit Union.             

The Village of Masset account information is:

If you do use this process, please either fax to (250) 626-3968, email cfo@mhtv.ca or call us at (250) 626-3995 with information  regarding the amount of your payment, date of your transfer, your roll number and the institution the transfer was sent from to ensure that we can properly identify your payment and apply it correctly to your account.

Please note that we accept only cash or cheque for property tax payments.  Postdated cheques are acceptable.  We do not accept debit or credit card payments.                  

 

Note for Seniors

Note for seniors:

If you are 65 yrs or older please let us know, the Village of Masset offers a seniors rate for utilities.  Come in to the office with your proof of age for us to apply this lower rate to you.

Harbour Day planning is underway for August 13th, 2016.  We have hired a coordinator and anyone wishing to volunteer or if you have any ideas, please contact the Village of Masset office at 250-626-3995.

The Village of Masset is seeking motivated, responsible and reliable students for the following positions:

Public Works Crew, must be able to safely operate machinery such as gas powered trimmers and lawnmowers, be physically fit, able to follow instructions and enjoy outdoor work, shifts Monday-Friday 8 hrs/day.

Visitor Info Centre, must be able to work with the public, be knowledgeable about the area, able to work independently and work a variety of shifts including weekends.
