MASSET EV CHARGING SERVICE

The installation has been completed! Masset EV charging service is available for use!

The Village of Masset has a new Charge North EV station at the old Fire hall on 1674 Main Street next to the Village office, ready to serve the public!

Charge North was initiated in 2018 by several municipalities and six regional districts in Northern BC and the Interior. They realized that collaboration would be vital to increasing the availability of public charging infrastructure essential for the increased adoption of electric vehicles in the region. With the support of the Community Energy Association, initial local government investments were leveraged to attract additional funding from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Northern Development Initiative Trust, and the Province of BC. Other organizations include the Northern BC Tourism Association, BC Hydro, and the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. Masset was one of 31 communities chosen to receive a charging system.

UTILITY INVOICES

Please be advised that any outstanding balances as of December 31, 2022 will be transferred to the property tax account as arrears and will accrue interest. If you are unsure of the status of your account, please contact the office to inquire.

BE NICE AND CLEAR YOUR ICE

With the arrival of winter weather, the Village of Masset would like to remind you to consider the safety of others in making an effort to keep snow and ice clear from the sidewalks adjacent to your property, both residential and commercial.

WATERLINES

Now would be a good time to make sure your waterlines are prepared for the cold. Each winter we see frozen pipes that cause damage and often require a call out fee for village staff to shut water off. Being prepared can save you money and prevent a big cleanup.

NOTE FOR SENIORS

If you are 65 yrs. or older please let us know, as the Village of Masset offers a seniors rate for utilities.  Come in to the office with your proof of age for us to apply this lower rate to you.
