Water Main Replacement Project

Water Main Replacement Project

The Village of Masset has received funding from the Clean Water and Wastewater fund to do further replacement of old water mains.  This phase of the replacement project will be focusing on the water main sections that connect from Harrison Avenue to Collison Avenue and for Main Street and Orr Street connecting right up to Hodges Avenue.  The work has been scheduled for the fall to avoid disruption to these main streets during the busy summer tourist season.  There will be more detailed announcements about road closures as we get closer to the start of construction and we will be doing our best to minimize the disruption, however, there will be disruptions to traffic and parking that will be unavoidable.

Boat Launch Repair

Boat Launch Repair

The Village of Masset has secured funding from Northern Development Initiative Trust to upgrade and repair the boat launch.  Plans include replacing the lower portion of the ramp and installing a float to aid in launching and loading boats.  As part of this initiative the Village will be instituting a modest fee for the use of the boat launch facility.  Details on the fee system will be announced over the winter following the successful completion of the repairs/upgrade.
